Gentlemen racers. Impossibly elegant, inexplicably desirable, a path racer is the perfect choice for the man-about-town, so says Urban Cyclist magazine, which recently tested several models including our own Yeats.
The Yeats scored 8/10 and came joint top with overall leader the Pashley Speed 5, which left us feeling flattered. After all, Pashley has over 100 years in the saddle, whereas 8Ball has one and we can’t deny that some of our design choices offer a nod to Pashley. Saying that, the review did pick up on the fact that our bicycles are modern designs with some retro throwback features, which we think offers the best of both worlds.
We were commended on the steering of the Yeats, reinforcing our claim that the moustache handlebar is much overlooked in terms of its versatility. And our decision to go with drum brakes was met with approval for 2015.
Urban Cyclist also picked up on our key differentiator, which is customisation of the stem and gearing for all customers to give the most appropriate riding style. Something you don’t get anywhere else as standard.
“Sweet looking, well equipped, great looking bike with thoughtful custom options.” Can’t say fairer than that.
